Air Asia, founded in 1993, is a low-cost airline based in Malaysia. It also happens to be the largest airline in the country. Its headquarters are located in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. Its massive fleet consist of 254 aircraft (including subsidiaries). Domestic and international travelers can make Air Asia reservations for any of the 165 destinations it serves. The primary hub of this popular airline is Kuala Lumpur International Airport, while its secondary hubs include Kuching International Airport, Langkawi International Airport, Senai International Airport, Penang International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Air Asia offers a frequent flyer program for its passengers called AirAsia BIG Loyalty.
Baggage Policy
Passengers with Air Asia flight tickets are allowed to carry one piece of carry-on baggage along with one personal item. The dimensions of the baggage cannot exceed 22 x 14 x 9 inches, while the dimensions of the personal item cannot be more than 16 x 12 x 4 inches. Air Asia charges a checked baggage fee on all flights. The maximum weight limit for flights to/from the U.S.A. is 44 lb. Passengers can divide these 44 lb. into two pieces of checked baggage or may carry one bag having the same weight.
